NUK Baby Range: Soothers & Bottles
Wednesday, March 11, 2020

In the 1940’s, two German dentists discovered that babies who had been breastfed developed significantly fewer crooked teeth.

They researched sucking, drinking and breastfeeding further and as a result invented the first asymmetrically shaped teat, which was modelled on the form of a mother’s breast during breastfeeding.

Why is the shape so important?

NUK Soothers & Bottle Teats promote healthy oral development whilst baby sucks; training its muscles and perfecting the coordination between the jaw, palate, tongue and lips. This helps support:

  • Breathing
  • Eating
  • Speech development
  • Helps prevents teeth misalignment

The small hole at the top of the teat (the offset hole) promotes optimum salivation of feed. This means milk nourishment stays longer in the mouth, mixing with saliva for better digestion.

NUK Temperature Control

If the liquid is too hot, the normally blue indicator on the side of the NUK bottles will turn white.
